A native Texan, Angela Vega grew up in Katy, TX and moved to attend The University of Texas at Austin to receive a B.B.A. and B.S. in Advertising. It was there that she found her passion for fitness and became a personal trainer to help others become athletes. She races as a competitive runner and triathlete from 10Ks to 70.3s, including the Boston Marathon and Texas Tri Series. She works and lives in ATX with her husband, Edgar, and her greyhound, (Bruce) Banner.

How long have she been running?
She ran a handful of races from 2009-2010, in local 5Ks and 10Ks. She started running consistently in 2011, when she started to train for her first marathon (Austin Marathon 2011). She ran on and off from 2011-2012, but made a strong commitment to improve in late 2013. She has completed in more than 80 races in the past 5 years ranging from the Boston Marathon to Buffalo Springs 70.3.
What inspires her to run?
She believe that life is analogous to running. That with passion, practice and persistence you can accomplish anything. As with running, what you put into life is what you get out of it. She finds joy in working towards the things she aspires to be. Whether a 7 mile tempo run at Marathon Pace or going to an 8 am class to attain a degree, it is the small steps that lead to the big accomplishments.
